Bayard Ave Kitchen Renovation
The new homeowners loved the original features and character of their 1920s brick two-story home, but the kitchen was dated and lacked storage space. A low positioned window and an old-fashioned radiator prevented cabinets from being added to the wall facing the back yard, so both of those were removed. A new window was installed just above counter height, while the radiator was replaced with a space-saving hydraulic toe kick heater. Oak floors were feathered into the kitchen and refinished to match the original flooring in the rest of the home. Cabinets, countertop and backsplash tile in shades of white, gray and beige transformed the space into a bright, classic casual kitchen space.
