Laurel Ave Basement Remodel
This Saint Paul family loves their neighborhood and their 1910 home. But with two young children and a dog they needed more space to spread out, so we helped them turn their unfinished basement into an inviting and family-friendly gathering space. The basement was framed out and drywalled, creating a spacious family room, a three-quarter bathroom and a beautiful laundry. New doors and trim gave the space a crisp, fresh look. The original stairs, which true to their age were both uneven and crooked, were straightened and reclad in oak. Coordinating luxury vinyl flooring was laid throughout, beautiful and capable of withstand the wear and tear of kids and pets. The rooms were finished with a light greige paint and vertical, earth-toned tiles in the bathroom, rendering the space warm and bright.
